Introducing Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak Offshore Music Edition

Audemars Piguet has, on several occasions, brought music, artists, watchmakers, craftspeople, and watch enthusiasts together. Earlier this year, it turned up the volume to announce Grammy award-winning British-American DJ, songwriter, and record producer Mark Ronson as its new brand ambassador. And who can forget the year 2005 and The Royal Oak Offshore Jay-Z 10th Anniversary Limited Edition, designed in collaboration with hip-hop giant Jay-Z; not to mention Ed Sheeran's obsession with the ceramic Royal Oaks.
 
With that being said, the latest Music Edition models were only inevitable. The five new Royal Oak Offshore references amplify the brand's long-standing relationship with music. Available in 37mm and 43mm, these watches – two in titanium, two in gem-set 18k white gold and one in black ceramic – use different materials and bring the spirit of recording studios to the dial. The sonical design of the Tapisserie dials exquisitely represents the pattern of an equalizer and celebrates the brand's vivid association with the music world.
 
Equipped with selfwinding movements – the new Caliber 5909 for the 37mm models and Caliber 4309 for the 43 mm variants – these new Royal Oaks do their best to reproduce the motifs of an equalizer with knurled-textured studs that bring to mind audio jacks and crown guards inspired by the fader on mixing consoles. Two In Titanium

Available in 37mm and 43mm diameters, the first two Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Music Edition models in the line are made of titanium. Both feature a blue dial that serves as a canvas for the coloured equalizer that certainly does not make you miss a date window. This peppy contrast complements the elegant AP monogram in polished white gold at 12 o'clock, along with the 18k white gold hour markers and hands featuring a luminescent coating.

The 37mm reference has been paired with an interchangeable blue rubber strap featuring a mosaic effect pattern. The interchangeable strap system is a first for a 37mm Audemars Piguet model. Additionally, you can pair the model with turquoise, yellow and green rubber straps. The 43mm iteration also comes with an interchangeable blue rubber strap matching the dial, along with three additional turquoise, yellow and green rubber straps. These references have been equipped with a sapphire and titanium caseback engraved with 'Limited Edition of 500 Pieces'.

The 37mm Ref. 77600TI.OO.A343CA.01 is powered by Caliber 5909, which achieves a power reserve of around 60 hours and inside the 43mm Ref. 15600TI.OO.A343CA.01 beats the Caliber 4309, which delivers a power reserve of around 70 hours.

Two With Gems

Two 18k white gold 37mm and 43mm models boast a dial and bezel set with coloured harmony-cut stones, both featuring a blue aventurine dial with the equalizer motif, adorned with rubies, peridots, tsavorites, green, blue, and orange sapphires. A similar design also embellishes the bezels of both references.

The 37mm Ref. 77601BC.YY.D343CA.01 has been set with 166 stones, while the 43mm Ref. 15601BC.YY.D343CA.01 packs a total of 230 stones. Both the models feature the polished AP monogram at 12 o'clock, along with the 18k white gold hour markers and hands.

Wrapping the wrist will be a blue interchangeable strap for the two iterations that will also come with three additional rubber straps in turquoise, yellow, and green. For the 37mm reference, the strap features the mosaic effect pattern. The 37mm and 43mm Royal Oak Offshores find their power in the Caliber 5909 and 4309 respectively.

A Symphony In Ceramic

The fifth and the last model is a black stunner in a 43mm ceramic case that flaunts a monochrome aesthetic, finding a splendid contrast in the timepiece's elements in titanium and the vivid equalizer design on the dial. This low-key, but high-contrast timepiece has 10 different colors printed onto the Tapisserie motif.

The hand-finished selfwinding Caliber 4309 is visible through the titanium and sapphire caseback of this 43mm Ref. 15600CE.OO.A002CA.01, which has been engraved with 'Limited Edition of 250 Pieces'. Audemars Piguet offers this interesting timepiece on an interchangeable black rubber strap to become one with the overall dark aesthetic of the watch.

Three additional rubber straps in turquoise, yellow, and green are also available for the watch, which comes with white gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating.
